Default I discovered e-prime just today, but I've been looking for it for a long time.

I came across e-prime while surfing some atheist and zen websites. E-prime excited me right away. I recognized its usefulness in practicing mindfulness, and accepting impermanency. In fact, I started using it this evening at dinner. My 8-year-old son declared that he would likely do most of the work of his group's science project, because "I'm the science guy." I identified that his use of "to be" made his statement vague, which I would have missed had he made that statement just an hour earlier. I asked "what makes you say that?" This forced him to list examples of why he sees himself as "the science guy," for the family. He later said "Josh will do most of the work in his group, because he's smart." Similarly, I asked "what does Josh do that makes you see him as smart?" More examples. Using e-prime helped me better understand my son right away! I love it. I have to practice!
