Default Key concepts that you can apply to life

If you really want to motivate someone and get the most out of them, ask them this question. "How do you see yourself adding value to this work"?

You end up in flow when your skills and challenges work in sync.

Karen, you've got me wondering how one ends up in a flow and starts doing things in sync. Can you please clarify it?

Yes, thanks for asking. When you go into FLOW it means that the best skills you possess plus the peak challenges you face compliment one another. For example; You work on an assignment and before you know it, 5 hours have passed and you didn't realize that so much time has passed. You feel a great sense of satisfaction because you had the skills to complete the job and you could handle the challenges because of your skills. Look below to see what happens when you don't have flow in your life. By the way, flow in your personal life has amazing effects.
CHALLENGE EXPERIENCE

• Low Challenge/High Skill: Boredom
(Over qualified)

• Low Challenge/Med. Skill: Daydreaming
(Driving a car)

• Low Challenge/Low Skill Death
(Repeated performances)

• Med. Challenge/High Skill: Frustration
(Need more training)

• Med. Challenge/Med. Skill: Unproductive
(No motivation/redundancy)

• Med. Challenge/Low Skill: Anxious but alive
(Slightly Motivated)

• High Challenge/Med Skill: Anxious but alive
(Slightly Motivated)

• High Challenge/Low Skill: Very frustrated

• High Challenge/High Skill: In-Flow

When's the last time you asked yourself how much you matter?

Karen, what does "When's the last time" mean, "When did you last"?

Yes my friend, when did you last works best for that statement. See, you do know your English......

I would like for everyone to see Al Gore's documentary on 'Inconvenient Truth'. What an eye opener. He had scientists do a thorough research on the decline of our environment and the severe effects of global warming and all the predictions that these scientists made for the next 5 years have already happened. Very scary!!!!! We all must do our part to keep this planet healthy or in the next 40 years we won't have a planet earth....

K, I agree with you. At that pace we'll have (even) hotter summers and colder winters all right.

Just finished an e-prime segment to a business writing workshop. Amazingly successful. I enjoyed watching participants learn a skill that will last them a lifetime.

The start to change anything begins with a single thought.
