Default Nor, I might add, should it be exptected to...

"[...] Aristotle ... said that one swallow does not make a summer (nor, I might add, should it be expected to quench one's thirst)." -- More E-Prime: To be Or Not II, p. 20

How would you render the "nor, I might add, should it be expected to quench one's thirst" part into E-Prime?

carowyn_is_cool, thank you for the alternatives that you gave. They do look proper or adequate to me, whichever comes first.

Marcio, why have you and all my favorite others gone off this e-prime site?

Karen, you've got me right where you want me. How did your ultimate presentation come along?

The presentation went fabulous, and the evaluations went stupendous. I can't thank you enough for your support. The energy of this workshop hit an all time high once we started rewriting the memos. One participant commented after reading one of the memos that you had sent, 'and I thought we cornered the market on sugaring up a memo, but the people of Brazil put new meaning to putting sugar on top of icing!"

Thanks for coming back on to this site. I notice that we again have intrusive mailers sending their e-mails. If this continues, I can see a very bleak future for this e-prime site.

Keep in touch, you have my e-mail. K

Karen, I hope you will present many workshops in the future as many, as you have presented in the past, at least.

I have desperately searched the local bookstores for any business letter manuals both in English and Portuguese. I just bought this one manual, the author of which lists the following passé letter closings:
  • Since we had all of this to write about for the moment...
  • As that was all we could write about...
  • With no more words to add...
  • We formulate wishes of high esteem and distinct consideration...
  • With our utmost wishes of consideration and respect, we beg to (leave)...
  • We make use of this letter to express our most cordial/heartfelt wishes of esteem...
  • With esteem and appraisal, we undersign...
  • With no other matter to discuss for the moment, we take the opportunity to make known (to you) our highest manifestation of appraisal.
  • Limited to the matter above, we bestow on your good selves our highest esteem and distinct consideration.
  • We avail ourselves of this opportunity to renew our highest esteem and appraisal.
Thank you for reading thus far! I will collect assorted business letters if you need them. See you later.
